ONE THING on Customer / Stakeholder Discovery

Smart product people do discovery with customers. Are you also doing discovery with your stakeholders?

Subscribe to my weekly Nano-letter:

Just like with customers, you want to learn about stakeholders’ jobs, needs, wants, motivations, challenges, and pet peeves to inform your product decisions. With stakeholders, you also want to create lasting working relationships. Ask about their teams, what success looks like, their incentives. In addition, try to discover how your product team can help.

If you haven’t done stakeholder discovery recently, it’s time for coffee or beer. Ask open-ended questions and then give them time to talk. Thank them, of course, but if you listen well, they will be thanking you.

Today!
Product Culture coach Melissa Appel will lead an open discussion for CPOs on Roadmaps: How to Justify Product Investments @ 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT / 6pm CET. How do you decide what to invest in? How to measure its success? How to get buy-in from stakeholders? Register here.
